Operating from the scenic Raby Bay Foreshore Park, we offer easy access to the stunning Moreton Bay Marine Park, a natural haven renowned for its diverse wildlife and rich marine environment, making it the perfect haven for our range of services.

From Stand-Up Paddle Boards and Kayaks to Single, Tandem, and Quad Waterbikes, or even walking on water with the Hobie Steppers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

We provide specialised, fit-for-purpose equipment to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can safely experience the joy of the ocean in a supportive environment where every individual’s dignity is maintained.
Our on-water stretch, breathwork and meditation sessions offer a tranquil escape, while our parties and team-building exercises are perfect for fostering collaboration and creativity among groups.

Meet the team
Karen Robertson
“Growing up, family was the cornerstone of my childhood. Every Sunday, regardless of the weather (and in Wales, it rains a lot!), we gathered with uncles, aunties, cousins, nanna and nannie for a day at the beach. Living on the stunning Gower Coast, we were spoiled for choice with an array of beautiful beaches. In 1956, Gower became the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our days were filled with water-based adventures. As children, we’d be tethered to an anchor in a dinghy to keep us from drifting away, and as we grew older, we moved on to surfboards. However, my true love was kayaking. Unlike surfing, I didn’t have to wait for the perfect wave; I had control over my kayak and could explore at my own pace. Wherever we went, my kayak came along – it became my passion and joy.
With my husband Andrew’s job, we traveled the world with our own family, including our two children, I feel blessed that Andrew’s work brought us to Brisbane. Thanks to Google, I discovered the beautiful beaches of the Redlands Coast home to the crystal blue waters of southern Moreton Bay, which teems with an abundance of marine life, approximately 335km of coastline just a stone’s throw from Brisbane.
We have been living in the Redlands for 14 years now, and I am a proud “Wassie.” I am living my Aussie dream as a part owner of Bay Island Lifestyle. I work on the beach, sharing my love for being out on the water. I’m still kayaking, but now I’m spoiled for choice with our wide range of non-motorized watercraft. We share coffee and chats, creating the Bay Island family, and I couldn’t be happier.”
Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley. Originally from Tasmania, I’ve always had a passion for the perfect wave and embraced the spirit of adventure from a young age. I left Tassie at 16 with just a backpack and a surfboard, heading for the big island to chase my dreams.
However, reality hit, and I realized that I had to face the responsibilities of adulthood. Life took me in a different direction, and I found myself deep underground. Starting from the ground up, I eventually worked my way up to becoming a manager of a gold mine in Kalgoorlie.
After my time in the mines, I decided it was time for a new adventure. I converted a bus into a mobile home and drove it across the country from Kalgoorlie to Gympie.. After that, I settled in Brisbane, where I’ve lived for 20 years and ran a successful handyman business—that’s how I met Karen and her husband.
I am living my dream, owning Bay Island Lifestyle, I love going to work on the beach and sharing my love of the beautiful Southern Moreton Bay waterways. I believe we have one of the best spots for watercraft hire and access from the beach in Brisbane, with our calm, clear waters and golden sandy beaches.
My mission is to welcome everyone into the ‘Bay Island Family’.
